On December 27, 2020 warning was issued for La Soufriere volcano. The UWI-SRC officials reported tremors, strong gas emissions and the formation of a new volcanic dome within the volcano’s crater. There is an ongoing ‘effusive eruption’ within the crater and the dome continues to grow. Alert level at La Soufriere volcano is orange, meaning eruptions could occur with less than 24 hours’ notice.
